Creative Arts
Creative Arts at Lisieux Hall is a dedicated studio where people build confidence through making. It is a supportive space designed for self-expression, regardless of ability.
Some members are picking up a paintbrush for the first time. Others are experienced artists preparing to showcase their work. Every session is a chance to feel proud, be seen, and enjoy the process of creation.
Trying new techniques
There is always something new to try. The room offers a mix of materials and techniques so everyone can find the tools that suit them.
Activities include:
-
Textiles: Shaping colour and texture through thread, fabric, and sewing
-
Printmaking: Experimenting with patterns and ink
-
Visual arts: Capturing the world through drawing, painting, and sketching
Community projects
The Creative Arts team is active throughout the year. They lead initiatives to mark seasonal events such as Valentine’s Day, Easter, Halloween, and Christmas.
The group also supports important dates like World Autism Awareness Day and World Down Syndrome Day, using art to highlight initiatives and start conversations.
Our work extends beyond the art room through meaningful partnerships. Recently, the team worked with Cuerden Valley Park to create handcrafted lanterns, helping to light up local celebrations with a creative touch. We also partnered with Myerscough College to integrate art into maths taster sessions, demonstrating how creativity can enhance learning and make new subjects more accessible.
