Self-advocacy in action

Advocacy is at the heart of our culture. We support people to shape a more inclusive world that works for them.

Through their voices and actions, our advocates stand up for the rights of people with learning disabilities and autism. They champion meaningful change in their communities across the North West.

Voice for All

Voice for All is our dedicated learning disability self-advocacy group. It is led by and for people with learning disabilities and autism. It is a space where every voice matters, and together, the group takes action to create real change.

Our self-advocates get involved where it counts. They help shape easy-read policies and play an active role in internal initiatives, such as welcome days, recruitment events, and staff interviews. They are also active in the community, attending events like Preston Pride and Blackpool Advocacy Conference, as well as being active members of the Lancashire Learning Disability Partnership Board and Knowsley Learning Disability Partnership Board.

Voice for All also runs dedicated sessions throughout the year. Trained peer educators lead open conversations about important topics like sex and relationships. We also welcome health professionals for workshops on cancer screening and overall wellbeing. These sessions help people understand their health rights and stay well.

“We have helped people with friends and relationships. Management meet with us and listen to what we have to say.”
